Contract Rate: £30.00 per hour (OUTSIDE OF IR35)
Retention Bonus: £1.50 per hour worked

Overview:

We are urgently seeking an experienced Vehicle Builder (VB) with strong skills in lino flooring installation to join a Project based between Craigentinny and Millerhill Depot in Edinburgh.

This position will complete a team of three already working on-site, and we are looking for someone who can confidently deliver both general vehicle building and advanced flooring tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support and carry out all general vehicle building and modification tasks

• Remove existing floor sections (particularly outside the UAT area)

• Prepare areas for Hitachi-led modification work

• Lay new lino and replace plywood flooring, including welded joints

• Participate in daily reviews with the Project Team Leader

• Ensure health and safety compliance for yourself and colleagues

• Report daily progress and track units completed

• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

• Support the team to meet delivery and quality objectives

Candidate Requirements:

• Proven experience in rolling stock vehicle building and flooring tasks

• Confidence in cutting, laying, and welding lino flooring

• Able to work in a collaborative and fast-paced team environment

• Comfortable working to deadlines and under client specification

• Must be flexible and ready for immediate start
