Production Assistant

Working in a rail depot to carry out scheduled and ad-hoc cleaning duties, general housekeeping, and site maintenance on the depot.

 

Main duties and responsibilities:

• It is the duty of the production assistant to comply with all internal G&W UK local environmental procedures, information, instruction, training and supervision. Should the production assistant be made aware of any instance of suspected environmental procedural noncompliance they should notify their line manager immediately.
• Assist Depot Manager with facility improvements.
• Ensure pre use checks on tooling and equipment is completed.
• Participate in all relevant training and competency assessments that the post holder is nominated to complete.
• Attend safety/quality briefings as required.
• Undertake general duties relative to cleanliness of workshop areas, mess room, toilets etc. as required, ensure high standards of workshop husbandry are always maintained.
• Follow any ‘reasonable request’ as directed by Depot Management

 

You will need:

• The ability to make sound decisions
• Basic communication skills, written & oral
• Knowledge of COSHH
• General maintenance background, including experience with basic hand tools.

 

Rates:

£17.64p/h Umbrella
