Information on the Role :

Concept development
R&D/testing
Design, in conjunction with Design/CAD engineer
Installation surveying, trial fitting on site
Working with 3rd party technical partners who provide independent consultancy/testing/assurance activities.
Working with 3rd party suppliers to ensure designs are feasible and cost effective.
1st build technical oversight and troubleshooting.
1st fit technical oversight and troubleshooting.
Quality assurance; factory and site, production and installation
Technical support for fleet manufacture
Technical support for fleet fitment
Document authoring, including but not limited to
- Technical description/functional specification
- Technical Requirements Documents for 3rd party suppliers
- Bill of Material
- Maintenance Instructions
- Assembly Instructions
- Factory Acceptance tests
- Installation Instructions
- System Acceptance tests
- Compliance Statements
In-service, post fitment
- Customer liaison and support
- Performance monitoring
- Defect investigation/NCR reporting
- Modification development
- Proposal production
- Maintenance optimisation

Role Requirements:

HND, or higher, Engineering Qualification
Several years’ experience working in regulated transport industry (rail, aviation, maritime) or in defence.
Understanding of the UK rolling stock industry and how it is structured.
Full UK driving license.
