Building Services Electrician Job in Milton Keynes offering a salary Level to £34k per annum

The Building Services Electrician will need to be qualified to

18th edition BS7671:2018
City & Guilds 236/2360 Parts 1 & 2, or 2351 or 2330 Level 3 Certificate
City & Guilds 2392-10 Inspection & Testing level 2 certificate
Completion of the NVQ level 3 in electrical installations, or a portfolio of evidence documenting two years ‘on-site’ experience

Coupled with a

Minimum 3 years’ experience as an electrician working in an industrial environment
Working knowledge with PLC Controls desirable
Excellent understanding of safety rules and H&S policy in an industrial setting
Familiarity with current industrial and electrical regulation

Reporting to the Facilities Manager the role will involve installation of electrical site services, which will include 400/230v & 110v power and lighting as well as the fit out of office and welfare facilities.

The job involves the following;

Planned Preventative Maintenance on time and in full as set out in the Maintenance Planner
Fault finding on various mechanical and electrical systems
Reactive maintenance on various mechanical and electrical systems
Liaising with equipment manufacturers with regards to fault finding and repairs
Working closely with the Facilities and Maintenance Managers to prioritise repairs in order to reduce the impact on Production
Working overtime if and when required including weekends and bank holidays
Adhering to all working procedures
Advising the Facilities Manager of any defects identified and proposing solutions
Identifying and communicating opportunities for improvement in all areas of the site
Prioritising and managing own workload on a daily basis
Ensuring machine downtime is kept to a minimum, and that tasks are completed and working areas are left clean and tidy
Taking care of all working property, and handling it in a safe manner ensuring it is returned to its proper location upon completion of works
Being responsible for quality of work undertaken, ensuring it meets required standards

Strong mechanical, analytical, and solution driven skills would be an advantage
Excellent communication ability
The ability to use basic tools and machinery
The ability to schedule and balance priorities, and possess a strong adherence to deadlines
To read measure devices and schematics
