Track and Alignment Design Engineer
Our client has been chosen as the preferred bidder for the Nottingham Tram Extension Project (NET 2), which will provide two new lines and expand the city’s existing network by 17.5 km.
You will be required to : -
* Justify proposals in front of track technical manager, project technical manager, partners, sub-systems and client if required.
* Manage/follow up of the Track alignment design deliverables list (documents, reports, drawings, proposals etc.)
* Prepare track design documents
* Supervise any sub-contracted design activities
* Ensure compliance with standards, technical specifications and procedures including Quality procedures
* Obtain approval of technical documents (drawings).
* Participate in the deployment of trackwork technical organisation & resources,
* Supervise and checking of all technical documents related to Track alignment design activities
* Prepare of submittals to client and 3rd parties
* Check sub-contractor and in-house alignment designs and ensure technical compliance
- Ensure application of agreed quality control procedures
* Monitor progress and status of design production and activity
* Report directly and regularly to the track technical manager and Project Technical Manager on the progress and status of design activity and report any deviations from targets, schedules, quality, delays etc.
Key skills and requirements for the role include:-
* Knowledge of civil and mechanical works
* Design experience including tram alignment and trackwork
* Project and/or construction experience preferred
* Knowledge of UK consents and approval process preferred
