Working either as a member of a project team supporting clients or as part of our client’s own project teams, we need experienced systems engineers experienced in researching and developing complex systems for rail infrastructure and rolling stock.
In particular, you will be an integral part of our clients plans to grow their Systems Engineering services in their highly successful Rail Engineering Consultancy Business.
With a focus across the system lifecycle, you will be involved in:
- Requirements development and management
- Concept generation, evaluation and selection
- System design and design assessments
- System verification planning and assessment
- Reliability Availability Maintainability Safety (RAMS) assessment
- Through Life Cost modelling and assessment
- Risk assessment (both technical and project)
- Mentoring engineering teams on the application of systems engineering practices in the Rail sector
- Working with the Business Managers and Systems Engineering Technical Managers to recognise and help develop opportunities, in this area.
This systems engineer job would interest you if you are
- Able to apply ‘Systems Thinking’ to problems at technical, project and enterprise levels.
- Able to use Requirements Management and System Modelling and Architecting tools such as DOORS and System Architect
- Able to communicate clearly and directly with people both verbally and in writing.
- Experienced in the Rail industry or similar sector
- Have knowledge of the conduct of systems engineering methods processes and techniques used in the Rail sector
- Qualified to upper second class Degree level or above
This position is with a major company operating across the UK that have a number of jobs in systems engineering with a salary range from £30 – £40k for experienced Systems Engineers in Rail and from £45k – £50k for Consultant level systems engineers.
