Senior Consultant Engineer – Engineering Support
- To provide leadership and direction to reporting consultant engineers and project contributors
- To support the Mechanical & Design Engineer in the delivery of project objectives and resolution of engineering problems
- To ensure project commitments are delivered on time and within budget.
- To ensure all engineering output is in compliance with industry standards, is professionally presented, suitably controlled, technically accurate, and fulfils project briefs.
- To highlight training needs and competency gaps to the Section Head
- Shall demonstrate competence and knowledge in the following areas:
- 2D & 3D design & modelling
- CAD systems
- Drawing standards
- Drawing Control
- Information storage
- Work Scheduling
- All Engineering design shall meet the customer requirements, be fit for purpose and ensure adherence to all relevant technical and safety standards
- When supporting installation work all work should be checked to make sure it meets best practice for the design and it is safe for its application
- Develop proposals with project team that clearly articulate scope, approach, key deliverables, risk mitigation, costing, timing and staffing and contain a compelling value proposition
- Monitor weekly and monthly KPIs to ensure consistent and improving performance. Reporting on corrective action as and when required
- Ensure all system inputs are in the required format and timescale and achieve compliance with internal processes
- Develop best practice and standardisation with tools as well as processes, such as MS project, Open Air, BoM, 3D modelling, MathCAD, design and installation policy
Ensure effective communication with clients and project team by fulfilling review requirements and notifying of changes within the appropriate timescale and level of detail
