Production Manager

£ Competitive East Oxfordshire, East Midlands

Working for a leading rolling stock company you will lead and direct the depot organisation to achieve production targets. Your key role will be to ensure that shift production output and service provision targets are met for all rolling stock maintenance activities by the effective deployment of resources and maintenance programming.

Responsibilities:

* Planning of depot resources to meet operational requirements

* Manage operational safety issues for the depot organisation

* Responsible for the management and development of the team

* Responsible for all operational movement of Rolling Stock on depot

* Reduce the impact of service affecting failures and repeat defects

* Contribute to the production of medium term maintenance plans in association with the Maintenance Manager

* Responsible for ensuring operational safety requirements of the maintenance regime for Rolling Stock are met

* Incident reporting and investigation

* Deputise for the Maintenance Manager (site specific)

* Actively participate in continuous improvement activities

* Carry out and assist with audits

* Undertake any other duties as and when required

* Lead and direct the depot activities, to achieve production and budgetary targets

* Ensuring outstanding work is kept to a minimum

* Ensuring vehicle asset register is accurately maintained

* Manage and co-ordinate optimization assessments

* Liaise with the materials department to ensure materials are delivered to line side to coincide with the production plan

 

Desired Knowledge/ Experience:

Experienced in fleet and/or maintenance operations and planning workloads effectively.

Ability to use MS Office packages.

Man management experience of large groups of staff 10+

Experience of maintenance management in the railway industry

Ideally successful candidates will have relevant rolling stock/rail experience however applications from other broadly similar industry backgrounds welcome i.e. Aircraft, HM Forces, Marine

 

N.B. This is a shift role meaning you will be required to work Days/Nights/Weekends as per shift roster for operational requirements.
