Planning Manager
Our client has been chosen as the preferred bidder for the Nottingham Tram Extension Project (NET 2), which will provide two new lines and expand the city’s existing network by 17.5 km.
You will be required to : –
* To lead the planning activity and negotiate as appropriate with key stake-holders within the joint venture.
* To implement, set and monitor the strategy for controlling the project.
* Management of additional works, variation requests to include planning and costing
* Interface with all key stake-holders and in respect of operational planning and reporting within the project
* Advise Project Director/Project Manager and other functional project members of status and recommended strategies to respond to identified risks and opportunities
* Monitoring of planned resources to ensure the production plan will be achieved. This includes facility, materials and labour.
* Compliance to all relevant procedures and to report and recommend any potential improvements.
* Management and tracking of the project plan in conjunction with the join venture key stake-holders
* Ensure all appropriate KPIs and progress data are shared with key stake-holders as appropriate
Key skills and requirements for the role include:-
* Technical Qualification – minimum ONC in relevant engineering discipline
* Good verbal and written communication skills.
* IT skills – Competent user of personal computer, including office packages, e-mail and intranet.
* Expert use in Primavera suite of solutions to include P6. Working knowledge in Microsoft Project
* International experience of project planning ideally within a joint venture
* Construction/Turnkey railway background
* Experience in signalling/track civil engineering construction
* Experience In International/Global Planning
* Well developed negotiation/influencing skills
* Experience in the practical application of risk management
* Strong interpersonal skills
* Ability to build strong relationships with key stake-holders
