Contract Manager
Our client has been chosen as the preferred bidder for the Nottingham Tram Extension Project (NET 2), which will provide two new lines and expand the city’s existing network by 17.5 km.
You will be required to: –
* Prepare contract summary and ensure it is widely communicated and regularly updated
* Ensure elaboration of the CDRL by the Project Team members is launched in time, and ensure it is accurately communicated and updated. Monitor works towards contract obligations; check schedule and all milestones compliance
* Establish and implement project specific commercial procedures, particularly regarding correspondences, notifications, insurances, variation requests/orders and claims preparation files. Ensure a reliable filing and easy access of the correspondence from, and to, the customer/partners
* Develop a pragmatic commercial approach based on contractual analysis of project, to project on a daily basis AT interests towards customer, partners and, in liaison with sourcing, suppliers/subcontractors
* Log and notice facts to customer, prepare and manage all elements and materials for negotiation or claims and counterclaims
* Monitor customer/partners requests to detect variation / change orders to be proposed
* Management of customer/partners Variation Requests/Orders, follow up the VR/VO list, prepare commercial offer and prepare associated contractual letter for the CM/PM approval
* Manage correspondence by analysing for the Project Manager all incoming correspondence, and preparing and reviewing all outgoing correspondence
* Provide to the Customer Director (CD), Project Manager (PM) and Region Contract Management Director (RCMD) a monthly project contractual activity report and when relevant, alert of flash email
Key skills and requirements for the role include: -
* Educated to degree level or equivalent
* Experience of working within a construction/Turnkey environment
* Experience of managing contracts and building relationships with partners
* Also IOSH awareness / trained with an understanding of ISO Environmental Issues.
* The post holder will be self motivated and have the ability to influence others, whether contractors, direct reports or colleagues, to deliver exceptional standards of performance. Excellent communication skills are essential.
* The ability to take a pro-active approach to contract management and identify opportunities to develop and improve contractual arrangements is required.
