Consultant Engineer – Mechanical Systems

As the consultant Mechanical engineer you will provide expertise to individuals and project teams on all Mechanical engineering related projects in which you are allocated as a project engineer or individual tasks within a project. Ensuring compliance to internal governance, policies and processes and continuously improve performance and capability.
Provide support in the form of reports on targets set by the section head Mechanical and project management.

• Implement work and cost breakdowns that are competitive but achievable
• Support opportunities to develop further business with existing and new clients through leveraging of industry and product knowledge and relationships
• Implementation of planning and resource tools and processes to achieve the budgeted and forecasted sales of projects using the right resource numbers and competence levels.
• Proactively plan and manage individuals’ allocated in project team ensuring that clashes with other projects are adequately addressed
• Shall demonstrate competence and knowledge in freight and passenger T&RS in the following areas:

• Brake systems
• Bogies and suspensions (inc ride & stability)
• Gauge compliance
• Vehicle interiors (coaches and cabs)
• Visibility & audibility requirements
• Power equipment and emissions
• Maintenance

• Engineering design shall meet the customer requirements, be fit for purpose and ensure adherence to relevant technical and safety standards

Testing and Commissioning must be conducted to a approved specification and in a safe manner, equipment were required shall be within calibration all staff assisting shall have competence for the test to be conducted
